How To Stop Children From Over Eating & At The Same Time Lose Weight

Studies show that 15% of people who are overweight are teens. This did not happen overnight because this started when these individuals were still children. The person to blame here are the parents because they allow their children to have the bad habit of over eating by not giving them the right nutrients such as fruits and vegetables and substituted this with junk food such as pizza and hamburgers.

But are the parents solely at fault? The answer is no because children normally go for these things while they are still small. If they were to choose between a carrot or a candy bar, chances are they would go for the candy because they have a sweet tooth.

If parents do not stop children from over eating, they will grow up as overweight individuals and they may be diagnosed by doctors as obese. Ten or twenty years down the line, they are likely to suffer from hard disease or diabetes so don’t believe that such problems skip a generation because this is not true.

So, while the children are still young, parents should now make some lifestyle changes. One option is to let the child excel in sports so they can build up their endurance and have fun at the same time.

Most children can join football, basketball or even swimming. Each of these sports use up almost every part of the body, which will also strengthen their muscles and continue increase their metabolism.

Parents should not let the overweight children lift heavy weights or enroll yet in a gym. This is because it is not safe yet for them to try it and doing so might cause an injury to take place.

The children can also ride a bike or walk if the place they are going to is not that far. If they want to earn a few bucks and sweat a little, they can also do some household chores or do the same thing for the neighbors.

The best way to monitor your child's progress is by letting him or her go the weighing scale and prevent them from over eating. If this is just right according to the edge and height, then the only thing to do now is maintain it.

If there are still a few excess pounds, you should continue with the program or increase the intensity up one notch. It is advisable to show positive reinforcement even if things do not according to plan so the child will not feel bad and continue to work hard.

In both cases, parents may also get the help of a dietitian to work a food plan. To be fair, the grownups should also be doing it as a sign of support, which can also be beneficial for their health.

There are parents who say that it is a tragedy when the son or the daughter dies before the father or mother does. It can happen due to an accident but given that what they eat is being cooked at home, this shouldn’t happen and so if they really cared, a plan will be put in place in order for the children to stop over eating.

The point is, you shouldn’t wait until you wake up one day to find out your child is overweight. This is because it is much harder to lose those extra pounds than it is to gain.
